With the waxless 2012 Alpina Control NIS nordic touring skis the name says it all! Control is first and foremost when it comes to these recreational touring cross country skis. With a 53mm width underfoot, the Alpina Control skis prevent ankles from rolling and provide a nice stable platform for a wide variety of snow conditions and terrain. Executes consistently efficient classical kick & glide stride while cruising in-track at any ski touring center. Adequate flotation off the track in fresh snow too, so you'll find the Alpina Control skis to be the ideal balance between groomed in-track kick and glide as well as adventurous off trail explorations. Excellent fitness and performance oriented waxless recreational touring skis for anyone seeking to get out and enjoy some fresh air while cruising the groomers at the local nordic ski touring center one day and the next day planning on making your way through the fresh snow on a frozen lake, open meadows, golf course or city park.
The compact length and 12mm of tip-to-waist sidecut on the Alpina Control nordic skis promises easy handling and superb maneuverability through tight trees and narrow bends in the trail. Protruding edges bite into snow for improved control when turning and braking or slowing down on the downhills. Uphills are nothing to worry about either, thanks to the non-wax Posi-Grip base, which has fish scales that rise above the ski’s running surface to provide exceptional uphill grip in all snow conditions. Yet won't slow you down when cruising along doing the classic kick & glide stride. Virtually maintenance free, we recommend simply applying a quick coat of liquid glide wax before each outing, such as Swix Easy Glide (see accessories below), to improve ski glide and prevent snow from sticking to ski bases.

The Alpina Control cross country skis feature the Nordic Integrated System (NIS) which factory bonds the NIS Plate to the skis. Any NIS compatible ski bindings then slide onto the NIS plate resulting in maximum stability and ski control when classic kick-and-glide striding, turning, climbing hills and descending. We highly recommend the Rottefella NIS T4 NNN ski bindings (sold separately) for use with the NIS system on these skis.
