The all-new redesigned 2012 Black Diamond Ascension Nylon STS Climbing Skins are the classic system for simple skin attachment to your skis. The Black Diamond Ascension Nylon STS climbing skins are the overwhelmingly preferred choice by cross country / backcountry touring, ski mountaineering and telemark skiers. Any adventure that includes traversing and climbing with your skis will want climbing skins packed in the backpack for the ascent! Then when you're ready to make some turns simply pull the skins off and store them in the supplied stuff sack and head for the powder. The Black Diamond Ascension Nylon STS climbing skins are very easy to put on your skis (easy to follow instructions included too) and are engineered to have the best traction, durability and glue performance.

ORDERING THE CORRECT SKINS:
Simply determine the width of your ski (in millimeters), measuring the widest point at the top of your skis. Then select the skins width that is closest to the ski tip width but still less than the width of the ski tip (if ordering new skis from our website, look for the ski's sidecut dimensions & refer to the first number). Then select the climbing skins width that is closest to the ski tip width but still less than the width. Example: if your ski's dimensions are 88mm tip - 60mm waist - 78mm tail, you would select the 80mm width Black Diamond Ascension STS skins. Attach the skin to tail of the skis with STS adjustment clip, then use included trimming tool to cut the skins at the tip to fit length of skis. Then use the trimming tool to trim skins to fit the sidecut and waist of the skis. Comes with easy-to-follow instructions, trim template & trimming tool.
