The newly redesigned 2013 Madshus Eon backcountry skis (formerly Karhu XCD GT) represent the ultimate in a true blending of cross country and telemark ski design, ideal for backcountry touring performance on the climb up, run down and extended kick & glide sessions. Backcountry touring skis with full metal edges to provide the security to manuever in slick conditions and making solid and confident turns. The Madshus Eon is narrow enough to feel like a nordic ski but combines a balanced flex and sidecut for carving beautiful turns through wooded glades, logging trails and of course open powder fields. These waxless skis feature the Madshus Skis proprietary MGV Omni No Wax base, ensuring great grip and glide performance in all snow types and conditions (also available in a waxable version for applying kick wax and optional glide wax). Accessing remote and faraway winter pockets of paradise has never been easier. Waxless version is virtually maintenance free, we recommend simply applying a quick coat of liquid glide wax before each outing, such as Swix Easy Glide (see accessories below), to improve ski glide and prevent snow from sticking to ski bases.
