Jason L. asks - I am looking at the Rossignol Evo Glade NIS skis and the Alpina T10 boots, while also comparing your Rossignol Evo Glade NIS touring ski package to the package at REI and would like some help in determining what the important differences are. Thanks.
ORS Crew (Chris) answers - The big difference is the boots. The Rossignol X-1 boot offered by REI is the least expensive, least supportive boot in the Rossignol cross country ski boots line. Our package includes the Alpina T 10, which is a dramatic step up with 200 grams of Thinsulate for warmth and a very comfy neoprene outer. Ski boots are equally as important as the skis themselves, and we do a lot of testing of product options before selecting the model to include in the package. It was easy for us to choose the Alpina T 10 over the Rossignol X-1 because it feels better on your feet, is warmer and offers superior support. In fact we chose to not even carry the X-1 for this year at all.
